At
Jones Pottery, I have been making handcrafted stoneware
e
pottery for over 18 years. My work is set apart by its excellent
craftsmanship and unique glazes. Much of my work is inspired by the natural
beauty that surrounds my home from sea life to the lush forests of Florida.
All pottery made at my Studio is made by hand employing a combination of
various techniques.
All of my glazes are formulas
developed and altered through the years and come from a multitude of
sources. I use copper greens, copper reds, cobalt blues, rutile blue,
tenmoku, and earth-tones, all are glossy to semi-matt glazes. Because
each piece is handmade, there will be slight variations in the color and the
finish of the glaze. That is the beauty of handmade pottery!
All of my stoneware pottery is high
fired to over 2,300 degrees F. I use lead-free glaze formulas, and all of
the pottery is dishwasher, microwave, and oven safe. For examples of my
work check out the Pottery Shop page on this site.
Because I make so many different
items, it is hard to include them all on this site. I also make a variety of
fish, sea turtle, and manatee bowls and platters and decorative wall
hangings all in 9 different glazes. I do however, have a price sheet, and I
will sometimes take special orders. All pottery styles are
available in each of the glazes. I look forward to hearing from you!
