The Big Pot

Everyone seems to like to see how large pots are made. Here is Josh DeWeese making a large pot in two thrown sections and attaching them.

The first of two similar thrown forms for the big pot.

Throwing it larger.

Making the second piece.

He wire cuts the bottom of the "top" to be.

The two havles were both left rotating slowly over night.

He slips and scores both rims before attaching.

He puts both halves together here.

Once joined, he paddles and seals the seam.

Once the pots are joined, he cut open the top and is now reshaping the shoulder.

He is now deciding how to further shape the pot and what handles to add.

Here it is before slip decoration. A 4x4 was used to add the crease in the wall on 2 sides.

Slip decorating the pot.

More slip decoration.

Josh DeWeese and his finished pot.
