KilnMedic.com A division of Jones Pottery After years of fixing used kilns to use and otherwise, I recently got into the business of electric kiln repair. In February 2006 I became a factory certified by L&L Kiln Company. I am familiar with repairs to most major kiln manufacturers including: L&L, Skutt, Paragon, Olympic, Blue Diamond, Amaco, and Evenheat kilns. I have years of experience using many brands of kilns and currently have several electric kilns in use at my studios. They include a Skutt KM-1027, an Olympic FL-12 front loader, an L&L J230, and a Good Kiln Fire Chief. I use these kilns weekly for bisque and glaze firings for myself and my students and am more than happy to help with your firing questions. I also use a propane fueled down draft kiln I call Lothar. It is a great kiln and fires better than any kiln I have used or seen anywhere and I am very proud of it. My friend Dan Quesada fabricated the frame and I did the rest. We are currently considering providing our services to build these kilns for other potters onsite. More details will follow as we perfect the design and establish our business. If you are interested in purchasing a new kiln, please contact me for information on the best kilns money can buy. At times, I may have a used/reconditioned kiln for sale, just ask. Schools: I have been working with Duval, St. Johns, Clay, Camden and Nassau County School Systems for a few years now and am happy to help teachers with not only their kiln needs, but also some advise and trouble shooting your firing issues. If I do not know the answer to your questions, I will help you find the answer. I am registered with the FDLE for the Jessica Lundsford Act via Nassau County School Board (Renewed 8/2010). Please contact me with your needs. I am also a dealer/reseller of L&L kilns and Olympic Kilns and can work with your school with sales, delivery, set-up and training.
Services: $95 Service call Includes Nassau, Duval, and Camden Counties. A service call includes travel to the site, check-up of the kiln and condition report. $110 Service call For St. Johns, and parts of Clay and Baker County. I have gone as far as Brooklyn NY, and Vancouver, B.C. and worked on cruise ships in the ocean, so I am willing to go almost anywhere. Please contact me about your needs. $25 Return Trip This is applied to jobs that require 2 trips to complete. $35 Hourly rate. Time billed in half hour increments. Time begins once work commences. Art Teachers: Please check with your district office, school administer or book keeper about the process you need to go through to get approval for my services. I work with several agencies and each is different. Generally, each school is responsible for payment unless other arrangements are made in advance. Thank you.

My business is based in Amelia Island, FL. I generally cover the North-East Florida and South-East Georgia area. If you are further away, contact me anyway and I still may be able to help you or find someone who can. At one time I had an info form to fill out, but good old internet spammers killed its usefulness. So, if you need my assistance, please email me at Chris@jonespottery.net.
